Our Philosophy
At SOMOS Learning Community, learning is hands-on, curiosity-led, and rooted in real-life experiences. We intentionally weave together academics, emotional intelligence, creativity, movement, and nature connection so every child grows with confidence, resilience, and joy. Our philosophy honors each child’s unique pace, brilliance, and voice, creating a nurturing environment where questions are encouraged, mistakes are celebrated, and learning feels alive.
Beyond the Books
Students engage in core subjects like language arts, math, science, and social studies through CKLA, US-aligned resources, and project-based learning. Alongside academics, children sew, cook, explore entrepreneurship, practice yoga and meditation, learn to grow food, study the Earth, and participate in community projects. Each week is a balanced blend of creativity, movement, practical life skills, and academic growth—giving children an education that honors both who they are now and who they are becoming.
