What makes Somos School different from traditional schools?
Somos offers a holistic, hands-on learning experience led by specialized teachers. Our small setting allows children to explore diverse subjects—academics, arts, permaculture, music, life skills, entrepreneurship, and more—while developing emotional intelligence, responsibility, and a genuine love for learning.
What ages or grade levels do you accept?
We welcome a range of ages and group students based on developmental readiness, not just grade level. This supports a more personalized, flexible learning experience where each child can grow at their own pace. We do not extend into High School currently.
What is the curriculum like?
Our curriculum blends academic excellence with creative exploration. Students study core subjects like reading, writing, and math, while also participating in specialized classes such as music, arts, permaculture, life skills, drama, marketing, financial literacy, and more.
How do you ensure high academic standards?
We maintain strong expectations around reading, writing, punctuation, book correction, and attention to detail. Each subject is taught by one of our teachers or a specialist who comes prepared to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
